What is FreeG?

 

​A fast paced program keeping minds and bodies active. Participants learn and display skills from each colour banding to move around their environment in the fastest and most creative way.

 

FreeG (Freestyle Gymnastics) is the art of movement designed to teach you how to tackle obstacles and overcome challenges. FreeG draws on influences from martial arts, free-running, parkour, tricking and breakdance, fusing with traditional gymnastics and acrobatic tricks. Build self confidence and get active by learning how to run, jump, climb, vault and swing through any environment.

Why is it beneficial?

 

FreeG gets your body moving in ways never thought possible. It will get your heart racing and develop a heightened sense of spatial awareness that can be put to good use in a variety of other sports (including boarding, biking, skiing, climbing and surfing). FreeG develops your ability to combine elements of effort, space and time when performing movement sequences with and without equipment.

When are the sessions?


Our FreeG sessions run along with the school terms. We usually start back in the first full week that school starts. 

What does the coloured banding mean?


Each FreeG session is a fast paced program keeping minds and bodies active. Participants learn and display skills from each colour banding to move around their environment in the fastest and most creative way.

Band 1 – Beginner (Yellow and Green Level)
Band 1 & 2 - Beginner to Intermediate for the older beginner 8+)(Blue and Red Level)
Band 3 – Intermediate to Advanced for the older intermediate 11+ (Black and beyond)

Important Information

Arriving to class

Please arrive to class 5 minutes before your session starts. Bags, shoes and drink bottles can be placed in the pigeon holes at the start of each session. At the end of your session, please collect your belongings and leave promptly to enable a smooth transition between session times.

What to wear

Please ensure you wear comfortable fitted clothing that is easy to stretch and train in (e.g. bike pants or shorts, good fitting top). For safety reasons, all jewellery needs to be removed, and long hair is to be tied back. Shoes need to be removed before you enter the gym - bare feet is best!

What to bring

Please bring along a water bottle. Our gym facilities include toilets, change rooms and a water station.

Registration and Insurance Fee

As an affiliated club with Gymnastics Australia, the Registration and Insurance Fee applies to Gymnastics Australia, Gymnastics Western Australia and Swan Districts Gymnastics. This annual fee will cover you from when you first pay the fee until December 31  and must be paid by the third lesson.
